It’s hard to believe that after all this time the United States has such an issue with illegal immigration and stolen identities. One would think that with all the resources available, the availability of the information highway and all the rules and regulations in place, the problem would already be solved. Unfortunately, it’s because there are so many rules, so many resources and too much information that the problem has gotten out of control. While companies who specialize in human resources and payroll services can easily maneuver through the red tape created by the government, this can be too much time and effort for the small business who barely has enough money to keep their employees working. Larger business can afford the expertise of a skilled HR department, but they spend far more time and effort combating issues that arise then a specialized company might, simply because they don’t focus on how to deal with negative result returned from E Verify or what to do when a former employee attempts to sue them over something pointless.

A payroll outsourcing company could easily handle these problems, legally resolve HR conflicts and manage a large group of employee’s, all the while reducing the over all cost to the company who is using their services. In most instances, a PEO can step in and deal with issues that might cripple small businesses and can manage the day-to-day issues that slow the speed of larger businesses. Some of these outsourcing companies go beyond basic payroll services and can take over the bulk of the financial and accounting processes for the hiring company, relieving them of the stress of federal compliance.

So, how does all of this matter to the illegal immigration and stolen identity problem in the U.S.? If more companies used a PEO who understands the in’s and out’s of E Verify, we would see fewer employee’s with stolen identities and if there are no jobs to available because of stricter rules, there is no reason for people to immigrate illegally. This would promote foreigners to enter through legal means, and offering a greater pool of quality resources for the payroll outsourcing company to offer to its clients. With this in place, the government would be able to streamline the identity process to help those with stolen identities to recover their lost lives and detain or deport the person who stole the ID. In the coming years, we could see a surge in illegal immigration and without a solid plan, the only option we may have is turning to companies who specialize in weeding out the undesirables.
